Week 14 – Fire in the Kitchen
This week just felt uplifting spiritually. We had a lesson with our brother and he told of just his conversion and everything. We taught of the Plan of Salvation and all of it’s parts. At the end after we testified that we knew this plan is true and real, I felt prompted to ask him to share his testimony. He spoke of how the knowledge of this plan has carried him through the last few months. He lost his mom suddenly in February and that’s been hard but he knows where she is. We loved his testimony.
Okay crazy story so we had to prepare an online Family Home Evening and I was making some fried rice and 2 minutes before this meeting I put some oil in the pan and something happened because that fire went up and into the pan. Next thing my companion can see is me on my knees holding this pan with flames literally to the ceiling. I waited a second and it didn’t stop and I pulled it away from the stove panicked. Another second and then it suddenly died and was completely gone. But it was too late. Our room and apartment building got triggered and there were fire sirens going off and a loud voice just saying, “leave immediately, there is a fire!” on the intercom. Well yeah so we grab some masks and the phone with the zoom call and oh boy we ran and tried telling the office it wasn’t real and that it was gone but it took a while and we were getting checks from security people for our fire alarm the next couple days haha.
Lastly we’ve been watching words of the prophets at general conference. I have felt my heart change on a lot of fears I’ve had. I have a lot more faith than I have had on the happiness awaiting us after this life. I know God has great things in store for those who follow him. I’m excited for this next week and I’ll see you guys in the next one!!
