Week 25 – Two areas later….
Lots happened in the last two weeks. Big mistake missing last week haha. I will just talk about the spiritual experiences we’ve had.
1) I moved to Daejeon and I began teaching a man I taught when I was in Korea before. His heart has been opened a lot and his family is now living with him. They are very cute and we love them.
A lot of times I felt the Spirit guiding our lessons and what we needed to say and ask. It wasn’t what we planned but what we felt we had to do and it really touched him. He told us he finally came to understand how God understands our trials. In our last meeting he was very serious and said he would read and pray about the Book of Mormon. If he feels it is true he will be baptized and said he might even want to become a “Mormon missionary”, haha.
2) I was transferred up to a city up north for the end of my mission. I will be up by the office. We taught a member and while preparing we prayed and talked about what to teach. We decided to teach about Family History and Temples and how through making promises with God we can live with our families forever.
When we taught with us she got emotional as she shared her testimony of exactly what she was talking about. She told us some miracles in her life. Her Husband had been investigating the church for 20 years before he got baptized. She told us about the day they all got sealed together for time and all eternity as a family.
In the temple these promises can be made for those who have passed away and they can choose to accept it. That is why we put so much effort into researching our family. In Korea they have a book that most families hold with a record of all of their ancestors from hundreds even thousands of years back. This book is always passed down to the oldest son. She explained the miracle of how her husband, who is the only member of the church and is the 5th of 8 brothers, but for some reason, when his parents passed away, the book was given to him. They don’t know why but they have the chance to input all of these people into their online family history.
We ended the lesson and we all knew that we were led to teach that. It was very spiritual.
More to say but this is getting a little long. I love being able to serve as a missionary and know more than ever it is the most important work. I will see you guys in the next one.
